- When looking for a hair and makeup artist, make sure that what you are looking at is really their work and not photographs they have purchased. If they say “property of”, then you know it is probably not their work. Also, make sure they have the skills to do your makeup for the camera when hiring them. Most hair stylists have a very limited class on makeup and do not know anything when it comes to photo shoots. Always ask what kind of makeup they will be using. Quality counts on the end result!
- Avoid using a makeup artist that uses airbrush makeup. They usually do not use total protection for you or for themselves, which can cause permanent damage to your lungs and theirs. You can have any up-do or style without any pain for your long, happy day, then with one easy move your hair will fall into a very sexy style for your wedding night. Our team works together as a well-oiled happy team, so you are assured that you will be ready on time with absolutely no stress. A consultation with Mendi requires a deposit of $100.00 before you come to her office. You can pay for your consultation over the phone using a credit card, debit card, or a check that must clear before you come in. Fees are non-refundable, so make sure your booking date is set in stone.
- Avoid making any drastic changes right before your wedding. Meaning….changing your hair color or cut, tanning in a tanning bed, believe me, cancer is no fun. I had my upper lip cut off from being in the sun and I have always used sunblock. Six painful surgeries latter and a lot of tears, I finally look like me again. If you do want some color for you wedding day, use a great self-tanning product that will not make you smell bad or turn orange. Use surgical gloves to apply it. Chanel makes a great self tanner with no smell. If you’re going to get your face waxed, do it at least one week before your wedding. Makeup will not adhere to your face right after waxing.
- You should look like you, just more enhanced. Your husband-to-be wants to marry you, not some overly made-up person he does not recognize.
